NYU Visit

Yes, yes. I know this isn't fashion.  But this blog is not limited to fashion people! This blog is art, food, culture, music, style, design...it's life! I recently visited NYU, and what you see in the photo above is Washington Square, the basic heart of NYU's campus.  The school was absolute perfection, but how could it not be?! This is what you see when you look out the window.  That arch is just magical to me, and the entire area was crawling with the colorful locals, so artsy and unique.  I loved the atmosphere, and I would recommend everyone taking a visit to the big apple!

Animal Instinct

Take a cue from all these fashion forwards girls and try some fur this fall! It's a great way to make an outfit instantly cool! Try this playful trend in either vests, animals prints, or different colors...

Wishlist

So I've been browsing Threadsence quite a lot lately, and today I decided it was time to show you all the looks that I've been crushing on.  I hate to say this, for fear of a lack of creativity on my part, but if I could buy the exact pieces that make up each of these outfits...I would.  I just don't have that kind of dough though. YAY RHYMES.  Back to the clothes, a trend here? Functional yet absolutely fashionable footwear.  With winter literally rushing towards us, I've been looking into functional lace up boots such as these.  A second trend seen in two of the photos, asymmetrical hem lines! I'm pretty sure I own nothing that has this and lately I've fallen in love! Something about it just catches the eye and makes it more interesting.  Final trend I swear, showing the legs! Even in winter, if I have the option to not wear jeans, I take it.  Lately I've been doing mini-skirts with knee-high boots, but why not reverse this? Dresses or skirts that come below the knee and a pair of ankle boots. Perfection.

From Gap to Gucci

If some of you dedicated readers remember, I was reading The Devil Wears Prada for an English project. Part of the project is to watch the movie as well, so I was beyond ecstatic to watch one of my favorite movies! So ecstatic in fact, that it gave me a little inspiration for this post. Below are a few of the best looks from the main character, Andrea, after she was given a makeover; turning her from drab to fab with some major adjustments wardrobe-wise.

For all of you who are huge fans of the movie like myself, I really reccomend reading the book....And if you thought that Andrea's boss is the devil in Editor-in-Chief form, then just wait until you read the book!

Goodbye to fall?

The day we shot this could not have been more beautiful.  Today, I look outside and see snow on the ground...IN NOVEMBER. Mother Nature is just obviously confused and needs to get it together.  However, I'm making the best of it with cozy sweaters and moccasins, and by looking back at photos such as these.  Valeria and I were looking forward to fall FOREVER! You remember this, yes? So the fact that the fall weather was gone in less than a month crushed our souls to dust.  Im furious actually.  But hey, check out our cute matchy matchy pink and grey look above.  I hope that where ever you are, the weather is in your favor. Tootles!
