New Year, New Us !!

Here's some super sparkly inspiration for the New Year! Clearly we haven't been posting much lately,  but we have been brainstorming! When we arrive in 2012 this blog will be better than ever.  We're talking easier, more creative, more fashion, and way more fun!  So here's a big Happy New Year to my last post of 2011! I hope that everyone made the most of this year, time to make some new 2012 memories!

Cold but Cozy

Hats such as these are the only ones that my head can get away with, I'm normally not a hat person.  I recently added to my collection of knit hats (I have a teal, black, and light blue already) and got myself a yellow and orange.  I think I should be set for the upcoming winter.  Clearly the hats look best atop flowing locks, but as these pictures also show, they can be worn with a slouchy casual look, or a completely put together, crisp blazer. LOVE IT. The greatest part: it's functional too!

Parisian Inspiration

 Emmanuelle Alt is one of the faces of the Parisian-cool look, which comes to no surprise, considering she is the Fashion Director at Paris Vogue. Her effort-less looks are coveted by many! One of her wardrobe staples is a chambray or utility shirt. This piece is perfect for dressing up or down, depending on the occasion. Emmanuelle usually pairs it with a pair of skinny jeans and delicate heels.

Up High

It's getting cold here!  However, I am never willing to give up my skirts and dresses for any weather, so knee-high, and even thigh -high, socks have been my way of keeping my favorite pieces alive.  Surprisingly, they keep you quite warm and add a really nice appeal to the outfit because they put focus on your bangin' legs.  You know.  These bloggers and celebs show just about every way they can work; with skirts, dresses, and even shorts.  My personal favorites are bonnie Barton of Flashes of Style in the first photo, and Sarah Jessica Parker.  But I am completely biased towards SJP and automatically love everything she does.  Clearly though, these higher than usual socks are a hit and they are a super cheap way to add a little extra to an outfit this winter!

APOLOGY POST

HOW can it have been this long since our last post?! I just want to take time out to apologize for our slacking off, we hope you'll forgive us because we truly do love you.  Its quite tough to have a blog and school work to do though, I normally don't have time to even think about touching the computer for some other than homework.  So here is a slightly wintery post. OUtfits shall be coming because fall/winter is my favorite! ESPECIALLY around the holidays, so expect many Christmas related posts!

Just Kidman

This is a little random, but then again, it was the result of a random urge to look up some 90's Vogue. I give you: Nicole Kidman in Vogue 1995.  Although it is by no means winter appropriate, think of it as inspiration for the future, and some entertainment for now. Plus, it was quick and easy for me to post on this busy day filled with school work, holiday shopping, and community service.  IT'S ALMOST TURKEY DAY!

Breaking Dawn - U.K.

 The U.K. Premiere of Breaking Dawn was full of lots of European celebs and not the usual group seen at the Twilight movie premieres. Either way, the three most important stars were there: Kristen Stewart, Rob Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner! This time, kristen opted for a black beaded Roberto Cavalli dress.

Black and White Affair

{Blake Lively}

{Byrdie Bell}

{Ashley Greene}

{Sarah Hyland}

{Emma Roberts}

There is nothing simpler than black and white, and often times I underestimate the two being paired together.  However, these ladies proved me wrong.  Black and white together is timeless and classic, and most often, you can't go wrong!  My favorite here would have to be Emma Robert's look (I save the best for last, you see.)  Everything about her is so elegant, from the delicately detailed lace top and flowing velvet skirt, to her perfectly wavy and volumized golden locks.  Not to mention the appropriate splash of color she added with her red clutch and lips. Perfection. My only wish is that I had somewhere fancy to go so I could copy this look completely.  Outfit post soon I hope? I feel one coming on...

Breaking Dawn - L.A.

The Breaking Dawn premiere in L.A. was full of beautiful gowns from all the vampire movie's leading ladies. But, my favorite was Kristen Stewart's long blue dress. I can't wait to see what the stars will be wearing for the rest of the city premieres, especially New York!I am in fact a huge Twilight Saga fan, of both the books and movies! So, hopefully I'll be seeing the movie tonight, if it's not already sold out...

Who Wore It Best?

 Just a few days after seeing Rumi of Fashiontoast in this blue Carven dress, I spotted another girl wearing said dress! I found the picture in an iPad app, called Street Snaps (which I love, and view daily). So I must ask, who do you think wore it best? Personally, I think the winner is...
 Rumi's version paired with the Theyken's Theory wedges*

*Note: My personal preference may be biased due to my love of the Fashiontoast blog
...and my belief that Rumi can do no wrong!

'93

Vogue 1993. I think a nice O.M.G. is acceptable here. This totally gets me into a fall/winter mood.  Completely dark colors, long, flowing skirts, and perfectly 90's accessories and hair. Lovelovelove it!  I've been thinking of dying my hair again, something dark for winter. I'll keep you updated!

Versace for H&M

Okay, lots of stuff to look at here.  Basically I have fallen in love with the edgy, badass-ness (yet chic, classy-ness) of this collection.  I'm seeing it EVERYWHERE and EVERYONE is talking about it, so hey, I'm being a follower instead of a leader today. I just had to share with you some of my favorite pieces, especially this last jacket.  It's like a classic leather jacket but with a twist,  and the detail is wonderful. Can't wait for Christmas!
