A Waldorf Wardrobe

 To continue on my Gossip Girl-obsessed week (more than the usual obsession at least), I wanted to move on to my favorite Blair Waldorf looks. Blair, A.K.A. Leighton Meester is best known fore her preppy and elegant looks on the show. Blair is always perfectly put together, but manages to stay both trendy and sophisticated at the same time. Her character is the high school queen bee, turned future princess of Monaco, so her wardrobe fits her character perfectly. Most of season one, Blair could be seen wearing multiple headbands every show, which is what she became known for (and what I believe started the headband revival a year or two back). She is a strong, powerful girl who gets everything and anything she wants. Her feminism is truly displayed in her fabulous, girly clothing. In fact, there may have been one or two times she has worn anything but a skirt or dress...and that's it! So from her preppy uniform high school days to daytime dresses to a gorgeous De La Renta, here are only a few of my Waldorf favorites:

{2 of her infamous bows}

{In Burberry Prorsum}

{In Erdem}

{In Marc Jacobs}

{In Stella McCartney}

{In Nanette Lepore}

{In Gucci}

{In Bill Blass}

{In a beautiful Oscar De La Renta}

Dig Your Heels In

{Nicholas Kirkwood for Rodarte}

{Alexander McQueen}

{Alexander McQueen}

I haven't the slightest clue where the inspiration for this post came from. Just for pure entertainment and inspiration I suppose! However, once I got started looking at all of the shoes on the internet, it was quite hard to start.  It is a new mission of mine to own a pair of out of the ordinary heels, preferably these skull  heels seen above. They are all just so imaginative and I would love to meet the minds behind these shoes. I'm obsessed! They also get me into the Halloween spirit, which we will be posting about soon enough!  I hope everyone is dressing up!

Style Icon: Molly Ringwald

 {Effortless style that has a feminine menswear feel}

{Her "hand made" prom dress in Pretty in Pink. Perfect hair as usual.}

{Classic 80's off-the-shoulder tee and some chunky bracelets.}

{Layering!}

 {Mixing prints, this is done a little too well.  The plaid skirt with the lace tights...sigh.}

Let's face facts. I've loved her since the beginning of time.  Her outfits, her hair, the characters she played.  In every movie, whether she was the rich princess or the deprived outcast, I WANTED TO BE MOLLY RINGWALD.  She was THE style icon for teen girls in the 80's.  Who can blame her?   Her style was completely laid back, yet so put together at the same time.  It looked as though she didn't have to try.  Especially in the Pretty in Pink where she thrifted/hand made all of her clothes. Yeah.   She the the essence of beauty (how else could she pull off that hair?) and The Breakfast Club is forever my favorite movie...with Pretty in Pink and Sixteen Candles tying for second.  Oh and by the way, I'm still going through my eternal search to find the perfect pieces to re create her outfit in The Breakfast Club.  The costume designer for that movie was genius.

Oh My Gossip Girl

The inspiration for this post actually came from a bbm I had received from my mother earlier today! She works in the city (New York, that is) and spotted some Gossip Girl filming on 65th and Park. I was beyond excited to receive a picture of the beautiful Blake Lively surrounded by camera-men. Gossip Girl is my favorite show on television. I am fascinated by everything about the show: its NYC location, the amazing style, the dramatic plot twists, interesting new characters every season, and of course the main cast actors (everyone from Blake Lively to Leighton Meester). Eric Damon, the stylist for the show does a great job creating the characters' personality through their clothes. Serena van der Woodesn, the party girl turned "good" girl, has a more natural make up selection and trendy clothes that show her care-free personality. Her character is breaks a lot of her mother's rules about how her future should be. The show is always on the cutting edge of fashion and features some of the most coveted pieces from every desginer out there! Here are a few of my favorite Serena/Blake Lively looks; from her prepy uniforms, to everday outfits, to beautiful gowns:

* This is by no means even half of my favorite looks from the show...
 I probably have 3 favorites per episode!*
