One of my favorite trends this year is lace LACE LACE! I've definitely taken part in the craze myself, but here are some of my favorite runway looks sporting this trend.

Beat the Heat!

On these hot and humid summer days I can't help but want to wear ONLY a bathing suit. But I think it might be a little awkward to walk around town in just a swimsuit...and possibly illegal (well maybe I'm exaggerating,but its a social rule I don't intend on breaking). So, I decided to look back to the best looks from this year's Coachella. These pictures gave me hope and inspiration in my time of need!

I Heart Campers!

 When a girl needs fashion inspiration, we look to Rumi Neely of course! She is the obviously fashionable blogger behind Fashion Toast (one of my daily reads).  These are pictures she posted a few weeks ago.  The glasses are adorable, but you may ask yourself, "How could I possibly wear something like that in everyday life?" Well to answer that I say, look to my campers...

Ta da!! I help take care of this cutie everyday and when she walked in with these shades today I almost dropped dead from CUTE OVERLOAD. Immediately I knew I would be posting this picture and comparing it to Rumi's.  It just goes to show ya, 8 year olds can be stylish too!

Polar Opposites

NEON OR NUDE? Definitely one of the biggest questions to ask oneself while deciding what to wear this summer! But never fear, I've got the solution! My answer: BOTH, but mostly because I have extreme difficulty in making life threatening decisions (clearly choosing an outfit is one of the biggies!).

Dree Hemingway and Blake Lively successfully wore the two summer trends . Blake's neon pink dress was cleverly paired with a nude heel. This Valentino masterpiece had the perfect balance of highlighter yellow and two nude colors. Neon AND nude, give it  a try! ...Hmm, I sense outfit post inspiration, photoshoot asap I promise! *Not so bad for my first solo post, huh?*

Flying Solo

To begin my first post without Valeria *quietly sobbing* I've decided to show 5 photos that can sum up my past week. 

  What time is it? SUMMERTIME! This barefoot picture can be applied to my entire summer because there is nothing better than free feet. It's timeless style if you ask me. 

 My gorgeous cat Cocoa, she is the star of most of my photo shoots especially this past week because we were pre-bloggin' it up! 

 What would summer be without the pool? NOT SUMMER THAT'S WHAT.  This heat wave has been  a major damper on my style because I need to wear as little as possible, and as the Man Repeller has taught us all, layers are a girls best friend! Luckily, the pool is always waiting.

   Ah yes, I've been waiting for this. My accessory of the moment is this adorable dream catcher necklace.  Valeria and I picked up matching ones (hers is orange) at an Italian festival we recently attended.  Needless to say it is me in necklace form.  From the colorful beads to the feathers, and of course the fact that it can give any outfit a hippie vibe (MY FAVORITE VIBE).  I wore it today and received endless compliments, so thank you dream catcher necklace, you're my new best friend.

LISTEN UP BLOGGERS, we have arrived! Welcome to Fashion for the Record, where we (Liz and Valeria) will be reporting anything and everything that inspires us and our fashion.  We'll be posting things both individually and together.  Thanks to this rainy weather, we were only able to take two outdoor pictures today. Luckily, my (Liz) house is being remodeled, leaving us with a perfect backdrop for today's outfit post.  We were obviously inspired by the 1970's trend currently going on.  So thats all for now, but never fear!
